At noon today the Captain reported we were sailing 40 miles off the coast of Panama with 225 miles left to go before reaching the entrance to the Panama Canal at Balboa just north of Panama City early tomorrow morning. It is 88 degrees outside with passing rain showers and mostly cloudy skies today. Still smooth sailing however. I know the Captain and Staff Captain always go to lunch after he makes his noon PA so I was waiting for him outside La Veranda to arrange our bridge tour for 5:00pm when in Cartagena.
This morning we both went to the gym for our usual workouts. This cruise segment is very unusual as very few passengers are using the gym. That's good for us as the treadmills and stationary bikes are open for our use.
After getting showered I took our disembarkation request form down to the Destinations Desk. Luke, the head of the tour desk, has arranged a limo big enough to also take Jane & Melissa with us to the airport in Miami. As Titanium members we get a free, private limo from the ship to the airport. They are on the same flight that we are booked on to DFW.
I also ran into Chef Dino so requested another special fried seafood dinner for five on Friday evening. Marcia will also be joining the four of us. I then had some lunch in La Veranda and enjoyed some delicious tilapia florentine.
I finally finished adding the captions to the 91 photos I took yesterday in Puntarenas. I was somewhat disappointed with the tour but think you will find the photos (and some videos included) interesting. So here is the link to those photos/videos. They are showing the movie "Black Panther" this afternoon in the theater. Rebecca is reading, and dozing at times while I am working on my laptop. Tonight's headliner entertainer is featuring Lovena B Fox. She is a great singer, songwriter, and actress that we have seen perform on other cruises. Definitely want to see her show tonight.
